The Desjardins Group Pension Plan (DGPP) is pleased to announce the appointment of Frédérick Castonguay as Chief Investment Officer.
In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the alternative investments and public markets teams, as well as the total fund and LDI management team. This key mandate is designed to support the plan’s financial strength and longterm performance.
With nearly 30 years of experience in institutional finance and leadership, he previously served as Managing Director, Investor Relations at Ardian, where he led the Montréal office. He has also held several strategic positions throughout his career, including Chief Investment Officer at Blue Bridge, Senior Investment Manager, Pension Funds at Rio Tinto, and Manager, Pension Fund Investments at Abitibi-Consolidated.
His diverse background, deep knowledge of institutional markets, and strategic vision represent strong assets for the DGPP, as rigorous investment management and sustainable value creation remain are at the heart of our mission.
